Angela Miller, I love you. How I could count the ways. For the first time in a long time a girl on American Idol has grabbed my attention before the live shows. Tonight she chose “Nobody’s Perfect” by Jessie J to win over the judges.
As usual she took over the stage with absolute confidence. She looked like a star as she belted out this top 40 hit. It wasn’t as spectacular as her original song, “You Set Me Free,” but she did well enough to prove why she has made it this far. In a different way than Kree Harrison, Angela Miller is just a natural star. She already has the looks, personality and voice for radio- be smart America!
The judges love her.
- Keith Urban: Angela, you have huge talent. Vocally, musicianship. You just have a big, big gift. If you keep believing in that you can do a lot with a little. You just have a beautiful voice.
- Nicki Minaj: Angie, I love you Angie. You know nothing is going to compare to that last performance of your original song. Honestly, I have to say this. When I watch that original performance back it is the most beautiful thing I have experienced since doing idol. Rest in that. Don’t over do it. You’re already a top contender. Don’t force anything.
- Randy Jackson: You are definitely one of my favorites in the whole entire competition. America is witnessing the building of a superstar. I love your interpretation of the lyric. I love you get inside the song. You are so passionate. This girl is the real deal America. She’s going places.
- Mariah carey: I feel like your potential is limitless. i just want the world to get a chance to hear that song you had me full of Goosebumps and bathed in tears. You need to keep writing. It was phenomenal.
Nicki Minaj toyed with her over Angel’s future.
Nicki Minaj: Do you think you’re going through?
Angela: I really hope so.
Nicki: It’s amazing because this show has taught me to never predict anything. You know you’re amazing. After tonight the world gets to decide what they think of angel. And congratulations you deserve it all.
