Back from the dead! Lifetime announced that it will bring back Drop Dead Diva for a fifth season on June 23.
After cancelling the show in January, Lifetime pulled an about-face (thanks to fan feedback) and decided to bring back the dramedy about a shallow wannabe model who suddenly dies in an accident — only to find her soul resurfacing in the body of a brilliant, plus-sized recently deceased attorney.The drama stars Brooke Elliott, Margaret Cho, Jackson Hurst, Kate Levering, April Bowlby and Lex Medlin.
Lifetime ordered 13 episodes for the series’ fifth season. The season 5 premiere, entitled “Back from the Dead,” picks up from last season’s cliff hanger finale with Jane (Elliott) frantically searching for her missing fiancé Owen (Medlin), who disappeared after witnessing her kiss Grayson (Hurst) moments before their wedding.
