'American Idol': Mariah Carey To Premier New Video On Result Show

Hollywood reporter has revealed that Mariah Carey’s fans will be treated to a double dose of the American Idol judge this week. It said the singer will premiere her new song, “Beautiful,” featuring Grammy winner Miguel, on Thursday night’s results show. The single, which launched at radio and online on May 6, 2013, is the lead track from Carey’s new studio album, due out in the coming months, and is already being hailed as “the song of the summer.”

The soulful duet, which opens with the lines “hop on the back of my bike,” has a catchy hook and a retro sound that is sure to be the soundtrack to backyard barbecues. According to an announcement by Carey’s label Island Def Jam, her forthcoming album will feature more of the “raw ballads” for which the singer is known, with tracks produced by The-Dream, Jermaine Dupri, Hit-Boy, Rodney Jerkins and Mike WiLL.

The video, directed by Joseph Kahn, will be available on VEVO and YouTube immediately following the premiere.
