Dance Moms Recap: The Big Crapple | TVgasm

Previously on the longest season of a reality show in the history of mankind: Everyone went to NYC where Jabby co-hosted The View and the girls performed The Last Text. Asia gave Jabby a giant thank you card. The Crapples held an audition for a female ringer.

The ladies gather in Stepping Out Studios and Jabby says The View was amazing but it took up time they needed to rehearse for the weekend competition, Masters of Dance. And guess what? The Crapples will be there. You probably don’t remember because of all the View drama, but the group dance will be about runaways and Asia, Chloe, Maddie and Kendall will be doing solos. There’s no pyramid this week but the two-hour episode should make up for that, right?

Kelly interrupts to ask if she can leave for an hour during solo practice to take Brooke to meet a music manager. This is part of her new “momager” thing. Apparently she called around from Pittsburgh and found someone in desperate need of free publicity willing to meet with Brooke. Jabby calls Brooke over and dismisses her, telling her to break a leg. She says more power to her because her dancing certainly sucks lately so maybe singing will work out. Holly: “there’s a pep talk if I ever heard one.”

Brooke and Kelly meet with Wally the music producer at a recording studio.

If Rachel Maddow and Charlie Sheen had a baby

He’s impressed because Brooke’s “Summer Song” has been downloaded more than 25,000 times and was #9 on iTunes. He brings out former(?) Pussycat Doll Melody Thornton to work with Brooke.

They both sing Brooke’s song and Melody advises Brooke to breathe like she has to pee. Isn’t that what Ella Fitzgerald always said?

I’m not really sure what this visit accomplished, unless the Pussycat Dolls have a new reality show coming out on Lifetime. I’m no expert but I think Brooke could have an okay voice if she had more lessons. I don’t ever see her on American Idol or anything, but if Paris Hilton can release an album (with songs that I may or may not have on my iPod – shut up) anyone can.

This happy interlude was just to lull you into a false sense of security before the yelling starts. Back at the studio, Christi asks Kristie how she’s feeling after Mackenzie danced on The View instead of Asia. Kristie says she’s fine because she figured out from the beginning that Mack would probably get the part. But of course Christi can’t let that stand so she asks how it feels that Asia was a pawn in Jabby’s game. Kristie’s still playing it cool (for now) and says she’s over the charade and that she and Asia have been to enough auditions that they aren’t affected by such nonsense.
