Have you been watching this season’s American Idol? If not, don’t worry, the decline in ratings suggests that many of us have been skipping out on this star-studded season featuring new judges, Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj, Keith Urban and returning judge, Randy Jackson. But according to reports, all four might get canned for season 13.
An insider tells The Wrap that all the judges will be gone, as well as producer Nigel Lythgoe, and contrary to rumours, the show has no plans to bring back former judge, Jennifer Lopez. The show’s format will also change.
“All four are gone,” the insider says. “They feel they’ve lost their core audience and they want it back.”
The network has resolved to stop paying judges the big bucks, what with Carey’s reported $18 million, Minaj’s $12 million and former judge, Lopez’s $15 million.
What do you think? Does American Idol need a huge overhaul, and if this does happen, will you tune in next season?
