American Idol airs tonight at 8pm ET on FOX, available through Charter Cable!
The four remaining girls on “American Idol” sang to remain in the competition last night. Each of the girls sang a current song along with a classic. There were some amazing performances, but there were also some disappointments last night as well. Everyone will have to tune into FOX at 8pm tonight to see which of the four girls is sent home.
If there was a big winner last night, then it would have to be Candice Glover. She has consistently given the best performances each week, despite being in the bottom two in votes last week. Candice really took Harry Connick Jr.’s advice to heart, and it really helped her performances. Candice’s performances of “You’ve Changed” and “When I was Your Man” were the two best last night.
The other three contestants were clearly not as prepared as Candice last night. Amber struggled the whole time she sang “Just Give Me a Reason,” which was easily the worst performance of the night. While she did redeem herself with her second song, “Stormy Weather,” it may not be enough to keep her on the show.
Angie Miller did not do anything special in either of her performances. The judges recognized that she sang the songs great, but they all thought she could have done a little more with each song. While it was not her best night, coasting with two average performances should be enough to advance to the next round.
Kree rivaled Amber for the worst performances of the night in the eyes of the judges. Both of her performances were solid, but she was just not able to take it to the next level like Candice did all night.
The bottom two tonight should easily be Kree and Amber. Since the show is combining the votes from last week and this week to determine who is going home, Amber is a slight disadvantage. Amber was in the bottom two last week, so she is going to have to gain a lot of votes on Kree this week to avoid going home. Amber has just seemed out of her league the past few weeks and should be the one sent packing. While she may have a better voice with Kree, she does not know how to connect to songs to enhance her singing.
