Wednesday night, and Harry Connick Jr. joined American Idol as a mentor, and it was like taking a deep breath of fresh air after years of suffocation under the vanity plates sultry singer heavy idol. While participants said Harry himself as a big star, his social, down-to-earth and self-deprecating charisma and said it was a pleasure to see his work. Grace fell hard wonder.
The first set of offers songs of 2013. Yes, spectators – 2013. Do you prepare themselves adequately for music of this decade even, but the songs from this year? Current Jerusalem, Batman!
First to Angie Miller and has a famous piano. Angie took in “Diamonds” by Rihanna and performance while Angie started well with a strong voice delivery, and over time it became clear that the provision Angie weigh, to prevent him from achieving the kind of time becomes more important with each passing week. The judges all echoed the same sentiments and even called Angie in the “run over”, which is strange this week on what actually seems dim his enthusiasm for the drama. Chances are we will still be welcome Angie back to the North Shore of Boston’s top 3 Home visit the city, but this time it did not shine bright, like a diamond. B-
Amber Holcomb selected: “Give me a reason” by you and Nate Royce, which has recently become a favorite of the same author. It would have been nice if Amber could have just given us a reason to vote for it, unfortunately, this procedure does not compel viewers to take any action. Finally, the judges admitted that Amber is not the second coming of Whitney Houston and all of them expressed disappointment in his performance, but Keith Urban Back-selling type of criticism in some weird compliment. It is clear that Keith is still in close cooperation with the producers and stunt to promote amber in the final round. C
Candice Glover chose to follow, “When I was your man” by Bruno Mars. While Candice struggled to develop a normal relationship with Harry, she easily handled Bruno, surprising the judges another wonderful voice despite the conscience of contradiction. Keith said it best when he said: “When you sing like it could have been a signature ‘When was the giraffe” Candice has the kind of voice that can make the words of the song seems secondary. A-
What Harry may have felt was missing from his visit with Candice, certainly met Kree Harrison. Not only I was impressed from his novel “see you again” by Carrie Underwood, and he is also involved Kree link hometown of New Orleans, with creole exchange. Kree realistic interpretation of the song limiting Keith warm in times and claimed that there is a discrepancy between the Kree with the band singing the song while lowering the tone of the song as she sat in throughout the performance. But the rest of the judges love the sound voice Kree, such as Harry Connick Jr., who delivered a concern about favoritism taste of the window to go on stage to give props Kree. C + Second round: standards (all classic songs are fair game.)
Angie Miller chose the unforgettable classic, “Someone to watch over me.” The realization that Angie was a fairly large tattoo running down the side of the rib cage more than a great performance can not hope ever to be. Keith asked this question: “Do you have time for that Bo,” a reference to the old model to choose the song was Nicki Minaj Angie Angie said reminded him of the Disney Princess and said he would do well on Broadway. Ouch. However, everyone agreed that Angie’s voice was beautiful. Although they are all basically agree on something, Mariah Carey took another blow, it seems unjustified Nicky – is kind of you to make sure that no matter how bad the other contestants sang Maria would still be the worst performance of the night. B-
Amber Holcomb and then delivered a stunning performance of “My Funny Love”, and again. The beautiful voices, as it was amber. That had to be a relief considering that at its meeting on Harry’s mentor, said he had no idea what he was singing about, and which had to be humiliating. When Harry asked him what was the song about, Amber’s response was: “This is the man … and I think it’s still very funny and strange.” After that display of ignorance (in addition to some of the others that followed), and amber only hope to save face, ironically, to sing his face off, as Randy Jackson would say. I did. A- (which can be given amber straight “A”, but as someone who covet words about everything, knows he will not be able to look in the mirror.)
Candice Glover and then came out and sang, “You’ve changed,” and put the rest of the contestants to shame. Seriously, they all just need to pack your bags and leave now, kind of the way it did when it’s Nikkei role to give feedback to Candice. A +
Kree Harrison was inspired by Etta James version of the “stormy weather”, but Harry was not inspired by the direction of the contestants or download their songs with occupations which in his opinion are not necessary, and finally, weaken the meaning behind the words. Poor Harry must be beside himself last season when Jessica Sanchez consistently chose songs that were so out of the frame of reference. The judges were not satisfied with the performance of Kree and hinted more than once that the impact of Harry could be the reason behind the failure of Kree to thrive with the song. When Randy said Kree I would have chosen to Etta James version, and Harry was almost had enough. Fortunately Keith took Harry to the judges table, where he moved to Randy School. “We are talking about individuality and sing your way and you just said, and I hope that the selection of version of ETA collector. You say singing as ETA”. Randy was nonsense about how all I just wanted to be Kree Kree, who added Harry, “and if we want to be Kree, just be a copy Etta James!”
Oh Nigel Lythgoe (American Idol producer), do not see the writing on the wall? You missed the blinding rays of light broke through the clouds from monotonous idol? Redemption has appeared in the studio tonight and his name is Harry Connick Jr.. Never fear, Mr. Lythgoe. السفاهة is not the way you would see that you have something to say, and more than that, a passion for music and not for a car, it’s much more valuable to the future of idol nonsense, nonsense diluted provisions, and a fake British accents.
Down two this week? Amber and Kree, and I hope that the universe will correct itself, and finally send Amber home. You can see the cracks in the pressure on the voters adorable hope that we will spare no more pain and just released.
By the way, not a bother that Harry could not vote for this week?
