ELVERTA — The Kinfolks Foundation Inc. is doing it again for Sacramento, but this time around the “Soul Food Festival” will be held Saturday, Sept. 19, at Gibson Ranch Park in Elverta.
Rain or shine, the festival will roll on with famed R&B acts Bobby Brown, Evelyn “Champagne” King, Freddie Jackson, Monica, and Loose Ends. The gates open at 2:00 p.m., and showtime starts at 3:00 p.m.
Attendees must be 21 years or older. VIP tickets are $68.00, preferred seating is $48.00, and general admission for lawn seating (bring lawn chairs) is $35.00

Gibson Ranch Park is at 8556 Gibson Ranch Park in Elverta (off Watt and Elverta Road).
The day before the Soul Food Festival, the Brickhouse Gallery and Art Complex will start the first “Juke Joint Friday” event, Sept. 18, featuring comedian Kareem Daniels, D Tyler, and American Idol contestant Erica Ambrin.
Tickets are $10 at the door. The Brickhouse Gallery and Art Complex is at 2837 36th Street in Oak Park.
