Court extends Somnath Bharti's plea on FIR against Delhi Police ...


New Delhi, Sept 29: The Saket Magisterial court on Wednesday denied to hear ex-Law Minister of Delhi Somnath Bharti’s plea demanding FIR against police also in Khirki Extension matter and adjourned it till October 15. The infamous Aam Aadmi Party leader was arrested on Tuesday after he surrendered following a Supreme Court order. (Also Read: Delhi Police gets two-day custody of Somnath Bharti)

Following his arrest, the Magisterial court had on Tuesday sent Somnath to two days police custody who has been facing charges in a domestic violence case registered by his wife, Lipika Mitra. The court on Tuesday had allowed Delhi Police to quiz the ex-law minister till Thursday. Bharti’s estranged wife had filed a domestic violence and attempt to murder on him following which he had been evading arrest. Bharti, who had surrendered to police on Monday evening, had been named in an FIR filed at Dwarka North police station in west Delhi following a June 10 complaint by his wife who said he had been abusing her since their marriage in 2010. According to reports, the 41-year-old former Delhi law minister changed his appearance to escape arrest. Delhi Police alleged that Bharti acted like a common criminal by doing that. He is also said to have taken help from people with criminal background.
