America's Next Top Model 2015 LIVE Recap: Week 8: The Girl Who ...

It’s time for a new episode of America’s Next Top Model 2015! Tonight the contestants pose as life-size dolls, presumably in a loving homage to the classic Tyra Banks film Life Size. This episode is a big one because the end will feature a double elimination!

Last week was the acting challenge. In the end, Ashley Molina was eliminated. Be sure to check out our elimination interview with Ashley. Devin Clark was in the bottom two last week. Will he be able to improve enough to avoid elimination this week, even with the double elimination?

This recap will feature spoilers for America’s Next Top Model cycle 22 week 8! Don’t read unless you’re ready for America’s Next Top Model spoilers. This is a live recap so be sure to keep refreshing for updates as the episode airs.

This episode opens with Lacey Rogers talking about how happy she is about the amount of challenges and best photos she’s won. But, Tyra appears on the TV to tell her to come off less slutty in her photos. Um.

There’s a very sad sequence where Courtney DuPerow tries to make friends with Mikey Heverly and Devin and they walk away from her. Ugh, I wish Ava Capra was still here for her.

Then Bello Sanchez interviews that he’s not here to make friends, he’s here to win in complete earnestness. It’s weird hearing that said sincerely in 2015.

J. Alexander tells them they’re meeting with a stylist. They end up being led into a school’s science lab. Tyra tells them that STEM (Science Technology Engineering Math) is very important to her and she wants to encourage women to enter STEM fields, so their challenge is to make a STEM PSA. The twist is that the PSAs will be Vines, so they only have six seconds. The judges will be the little girls in the school “because those are the minds that we want to inspire.”

They’re introduced to Brittany Furlan, Vine comedian. They’re going to use product placement of the week phones and they get grouped into random groups of three.

Nyle DiMarco is grouped with Lacey and Justin Kim. Nyle inspires the group to make a Vine that you can understand without hearing it.

Mame Adjei, Hadassah Richardson and Mikey are grouped together. Mame and Hadassah have fought a lot in the past, but they work well together on this.

Mame, Hadassah and Mikey won the challenge with a fun Vine about respect. Bello interviews that his loss was entirely Courtney’s fault, despite the fact that he deleted the video at one point.

Courtney gets the idea to throw Devin a birthday party as an apology. Nyle gets Devin to understand that he’s saying “happy birthday” but it takes a while. He interviews that he’s getting tired of how hard he has to work to get people to communicate with him. Later, Devin takes away Nyle’s phone and starts using it to take selfies. Nyle interviews that he thought it was disrespectful of Devin to steal his phone for entertainment while ignoring him and he decided to just walk away. He interviews, “I know it’s a competition, but I’m human. I’m here.”

When they arrive at the photoshoot, Yu Tsai tells them they’re all going to be transformed into living dolls. Don’t worry, Tyra specifically says this was inspired by the movie Life Size. Don’t worry, she also gives them absolutely nonsensical doll themes. It’s not as iconic as the cycle when they got superhero names that included Excite-to-Buy and Thirty-Never, but it’s pretty great.
