Sorry for the break last week, bloggers! I’m back now! So no worries.
So it was boys and girls weeks separately. I’m shocked that I actually liked this format! It made it easier to keep everyone straight or something. I was able to remember names and faces a little better. Of course there were still some where I was like “Uhhh who is that?” but that’s inevitable.
But let’s just sum up Boy’s Week as being awesome. I loved so many that it is WAY TOO HARD to pick just a few of them that I want to see in the top 12! However, no potential husbands for me this year. There was Paul, then there was Phillip. Who will be the guy this year (and will his name start with P)?!?!?!
The girls were this week and I remembered way fewer of them. Maybe because all the girls blend together way more. Let’s also skip the solos because those are overall boring. LET’S TALK ABOUT GROUPS PLEASE.
- The group with the purses: I am obsessed with Candace Glover (black girl with purple in her hair who was here last year) so whatever she was gonna do, I was on board. And I love when people sing Blu Cantrell’s only hit “Hit ‘Em Up.” Genius song choice and they sounded SPECTACULAR.
- The first group of cowgirls who all wore boots: I loved their outfits and I actually love Dixie Chicks’ “Sin Wagon.” They had the cutest choreography and all of them looked adorable. Well almost all of them. That girl with the black and white lace dress looked pretty frumpy. And her voice I didn’t think was that pleasing. But they all went through!
- All the groups who sang “Somebody That I Used to Know”: That song was everyone’s kryptonite! Seriously there was not a single girls group that got a positive critique (although a lot of them tried). I think every girl group who sang it had ONE girl go through. Awful. That song should not be sung by women. Also, how AWKWARD was it when that girl came back out to ask why she was sent home?!?! Oh god I was cringing. Has that ever worked where they’re like “Ya know you? Our bad. Stay!”
- The group who had that weird outsider girl, Janel: They sang a country song, which was weird. But they sounded great! Everyone that is, except Janel. She sang a total of zero words and sucked overall. YET Nicki gave her a standing O. STUPID. She was like “I love that you sang no words.” Okay you know who should remember all the words? The people trying to be the winner of AMERICAN IDOL. Then she got pissed at others for forgetting lyrics. NICKI STOP CHANGING YOUR MIND.
- The “Knock On Wood” girls: Okay that Zoanette girl…is she real? Singing next to her would be so hard because she follows no harmony or melody. I’m pretty anti-her. Yet everyone else hears her and thinks she’s amazing. What is that, bloggers?
- That group who sang “American Boy”: First off, I hate this song. I want it to die a very quick death so I never have to hear it again. Plz & thx. Secondly, this group was not good. They even said no one sounded good. Yet the one they said sounded good, that girl whose boyfriend was in the accident and had the cute daughter, was the only one sent home. Idol stop confusing me.
- The other “Sin Wagon” group: That Brittany mom is not joking around. She was near tears the whole time. Then that other girl in their group WENT TO BED. Left them! High and dry! Then, not shockingly, she sucked. And Nicki GAVE it to her. There are a few moments on Idol where I don’t hate Nicki. She says things I’m thinking at home so it makes me happy. She scolded her for going to bed and said she should’ve stayed there at least to support the other girls. BUT she got through anyway! Ugh. Nicki you were doing so well.
- Last but not least…the group with Kez Ban: Raise your hand if you thought this was going to be the trainwreck of all trainwrecks! I personally wanted “California Dreamin’” so I could make an Aunt Shirl joke in here (HONK!), but I’ll settle for “Be My Little Baby.” And then there was a miracle from above…THEY WERE GOOD. Well I still didn’t think Kez Ban was good enough to get through but I was so stunned that they all remembered the words (I mean it is an easy as pie song).
That’s it bloggers! What will the solo night bring? More amazing auditions? I hope so! The preview was very promising. Let’s chat it up, bloggers! How are you liking this season?!
