American Idol's 'Idol Across America' relay comes to Nashville on ...

didn't hold auditions in Nashville for its current season, but the long-running reality-competition show will make its way through Music City next month as part of its campaign.

"Idol Across America" is a cross-country relay of the "Idol" microphone, starting in New York City on March 1 and ending at the show's stage in Los Angeles on March 13. The microphone will be carried across the country by "local Idols," from fans to inspirational figures, local officials and former contestants, who will run, bike, fly, swim and do anything else they can think of to move it along.

The relay is set to run through Nashville on March 6.

Fans interested in joining the IDOL Relay Team should visit americanidol.com starting on February 19. We will update with more information as it becomes available.
